Last week the South coast was buzzing with lively discussion at four workshops held in Eastbourne, Southampton, Weymouth and Exmouth which set out the vision and objectives of marine plans.
Thanks to all of those people who attended and shared their views which will help shape a document setting out the vision and objectives for the South Marine plans.
The workshops were a real success and it was great to meet people from different industries, local authorities, non-governmental organisations, members of the public and people who had an interest in the future vision and objectives for the plan areas. They offered their views as part of the consultation on the Draft South Marine Plans Vision and Objectives document.
Since we announced marine planning for the South in 2012, we have been gathering evidence and views of people and organisations to help shape our our vision and objectives. The vision describes where we want to be in the next 20 years so that the waters in the south are safe, clean and productive. The objectives set out how we are going to realise our vision.
The document covers the marine plan areas that stretch from Folkestone in Kent to the River Dart in Devon. We would like to hear from anyone who regularly use or enjoy our coast and seas so if you want to share your views you can get more information on our consultation from MMO connect. Our consultation closes on 31 July 2014.
Thanks once again to those who have shared their views and suggestions.
